Job description

Our client is a fast track construction company using a modular building solution to deliver high quality, turn-key, design and building projects. They operate in the Educational, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Commercial, Leisure and Residential sectors in the UK and Ireland with offices in Dublin, London, Belfast and Cork.
Due to continued expansion, both in the UK and Ireland, they are looking to appoint an experienced Architectural Technician to join their friendly team based in West Dublin.
Duties:
Responsible for working on projects with a value of £200,000 - £8,000,000.
Typically this will include:
Preparing planning applications.
Producing detailed drawings for building regulations applications and tender packages.
Negotiating with contractors and other professionals.
Attending meetings with clients, contractors and other specialists;
Co-ordinating the work of contractors.
Keeping within financial budgets and time deadlines.
Making site visits to check on progress and ensuring that the project is running within the agreed time frame and according to specification.
Solving problems that might occur during building.
Carrying out defect inspections.
Undertaking any other tasks within your capabilities as requested.

Essential:
At least 5 years’ experience in the preparation and development of planning, tender, fire certificate, tender and construction drawings / specifications.
Good understanding of Current Building Regulations.
Sound communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
Excellent IT skills; including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
The ability to liaise effectively and confidently with other public and private organisations.
Good time-management skills.
Ability to work within financial budgets.
Good eye for detail and design.
Ability to problem-solve, but also raise critical issues in a timely-manner.
Full, clean driving licence.

Desirable:

Knowledge of issues pertinent to architecture, fast track construction, design, planning and the built environment in the context of sustainability.
Good understanding of Current UK Building Regulations.
Knowledge / Experience using Revit will be an advantage.
Experience working on education, healthcare and commercial projects.
Experience in a similar role.
Salary: Negotiable and commensurate with the appropriate candidate
